Hello guys, I was looking through some reviews for fusion, and there was only one signifacant issue that they mention from 2006 model...
In IIHS side impact tests, the Fusion earned a “poor” rating without optional side airbags.
models built after January 2006 added a piece of hard plastic near the gas pedal to reduce the risk of injury to the driver’s right leg in this type of crash.
From the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the 2006 Fusion earned four stars all around (frontal and side impact); adding side airbags improved front-seat side impact protection to five stars.
So how do I make sure that I have the right model when purchasing? Is it better to pay around $2-3K extra for 2007 model?
and, how big is this problem, or is this something just normal?
