shopping for a new vehicle and have narrowed it down to an acura tsx.

went into the dealer the other day and they said the lease rates and finance ratest went up Sept 1 to 8 or 9% for the 2009 models. There is a $3K cash back, but my question is:

when are the 2010 tsx going to hit the lot?
any insider knowledge on the lease/finance rates?
any CCC reports on the 09 tsx?

thanks in advance

I thnk the new acuras are damn ugly. 8% and 9% interest? The cash back is for cash purchases only. They are crazy. I don't think they want to sell cars.

2010 Hondas and Acuras are now out in the the US (although Civic Si are still 2009).
[source: www.honda.com and www.acura.com].
I would expect to see them here soon. Perhaps next month?

Lease/finance rates are what you said. Try again next month...they may lower them again once 2010s are out (can't go any higher than they are now). Both Honda and Acura got rid of their low finance and lease rates on September 1.

Search for a CCC report in this forum and you'll get the invoice price (it's the same as a few months ago). You already know all about the rates and the only (cash) incentive.

September does not appear to be a good month to buy a Honda or Acura.

just wanted to let you know, the 2010 tsx will also feature another option -- the v6 model.

so it will come with the original 4 cylinder and a new v6 engine (i think carried over from the accord) with more power and marginal consumption

i understand the i4 engine takes premium fuel, while the more powerful v6 takes regular (if from the accord) -- so this may make up the initial price premium over time.

from US specs, i read that the v6 model will also get bigger 18" rims and revised suspension, bigger brakes as well as an improved cabin noise cancellation system. there is also a "one-touch ignition key starter system" and updated tachometer redline for this model.

in that price range there are also a lot of other great cars... you will have to shop around and see what you like best and what fits your needs.

good luck!

Premium is recommended on the i4, required on the v6

Emm V6 model? Well now it's worth considering if it comes with SH-AWD standard. It has to differentiate itself from the Accord.

Despite their similarities on paper, the TSX really drives differently from the Accord. It's a nice car, but unfortunately with the refresh, they had to cheapen some materials.

I believe high compression engines (ie inline-4) requires higher octane fuel ... so premium would be required on that. The V6 is taken from the big brother TL ... (J35 engine) ... which is also found in the Accord but tuned to be a shade less HP than the TL.

The TSX interior is light years ahead of the Accord but I think there are a lot of buttons to contend with. Once you get over the initial shock, everything does seem to make sense.

Exterior-wise, the grill (aka power plenum) is something only the designer him(her-)self could love. That's at least a $200 body shop job to colour match the paint (so the front end is bearable).

Good luck with the purchase. I think the TSX is probably the 'best' sedan in the Acura line-up. It's a shame the grill is what kills it. Otherwise, consider looking at an aftermarket front grill or purchase the JDM Honda Euro-Accord front grill.

PS You might want to consider looking at what a US dealership would offer you ... but Acura USA won't let you buy direct to Canada export (you'd have to 'plate' it over there ...) Just a thought.
