This user pm'd me about purchasing 100 dollars in Gift Cards.
They paid via paypal, the wanted the Gift Card Codes to be sent via Pm/Email..
I thought something was fishy when they didnt include there shipping address in paypal, so i refunded the $, told them to include there shipping address with the paypal payment.
They then repaid. At this moment i decided it seems a bit sketchy, i wont email the codes to them, rather ship it CanadaPost / Xpresspost with Tracking + Signature.
The next day i get a email from paypal saying the $ has been put on hold while they investigate the transaction, Today i received another email from paypal. Stating that they have given a refund for the full amount of $.
Weird thing is i thought i did everything properly, Made him insert his address, make them sign for package and so on.
I just rechecked the tracking number, it seems as if they havent claimed the package yet?
Would it be posisble to contact CanadaPost and ask them to simply send me back the package?
Anyways.. I just wanted to let everyone know.
There username was RCMP1234
There email address was pameladecaria@yahoo.ca
They havent contacted me back since August 31st...
I just wanted to warn everyone as it could be a easy way to lose alot of $ in gift cards

Anyone know if i can call CanadaPost and ask for them to send the package back? Or do they automaticly send it back after a certain amount of time? As its been sitting there waiting to be picked up for over a week?

I think after 10 days if no one pick sit up it is returned to sender. But you can call and ask what the procedure is.

you can't get your package back after you send it out unless he doesn't claim it, the package is no longer your property after you send it.

Got it back yesterday, I had to pay $6 additional dollars in order for them to return it to me.
So in other words i spent 16 dollars on shipping. Im assuming they used a Fake Name, so they couldnt claim the package/Sign for it...
I have since filed a report with the police informing them of the scammer and the address i shipped it too.. I hope no one else gets caught with the same scam.
I just received a email from the buyer... They claim since i didnt email the codes right away it took too long for them,so they didnt need the Cards anymore.. Yada Yada...
Im just very thankfull that i didnt email the codes, and smelt something fishy as soon as i did, as 2 days prior to this i did email someone the code for another gift card, it all went smoothly. Just this transaction had a bad smell from day 1. It was a 16 dollar mistake, could have easily been a 110 dollar one
Anyways im curious as to what happens to a member here. Do you guys ban there ip/username?
As im sure they will simply make a new username here and try this again.

Not much more they can do than an IP ban unfortunately. Always wait a few days with paypal payments, especially if they're from 0 feedback users (ideally you should send it to another account or withdraw first).

Never ship your stuff. Always verify in person and accept cash, in person, in a public place, that has cameras.
