Dell vostro 1320, 13" (non-LED ultra glare screen)
P8600 core2duo 2.4ghz 3mb cache
160GB HD (I got an external HD for mass storage)
3GB DDR2 ram (pretty standard)
integrated grafix intel x4500mhd (not gunna use it for games, ps3 does that)
no camera or mic (no need)
no bluetooth (got a dongle for 2.50 off dealxtreme)
no fingerprint reader (no need)
4 cell battery (weak i know, but its a house computer, and I have power cords installed on two of my three floors so....)

$545.00 +tax free shipping

If you know of a better deal, let me know, it may be more expensive, but the upgrades would have to be more valuable than the upgraded cost.

Challenge!

BTW, this deal was about 2 weeks ago on dell's site, expried now.

That already looks like a pretty hot deal and would be tough to beat. I personally would want to upgrade the video card so I can play some decent games though.

Acer Aspire 5536 (acer... Fail)
15.4" (16:9 Res) (meh, usually its a premium for bigger or smaller than 15.4")
AMD Athlon X2 QL-64 2.1 Ghz, 1MB Cache (You beat me here ) (damn right)
4GB RAM (Insignificant but ok, i'll give you that)
ATI Radeon 3200 (Shared, not dedicated) (Comparable)
Camera + Mic (SKYPE! ) (OK, if you want it fine)
No Bluetooth (DealXtreme FTW!) (ditto)
Card Reader (Standard for everything now)
Draft N Wireless (alright, thats an upgrade)
6-Cell Battery (another upgrade)

Windows 7 Upgrade ($19 for 4 copies of Win7 from MSDNAA.... so you saved 20 dollars there....)

Just got it at PMed at Best Buy for $50 off after the late night sale.

So you saved $45 for a slower computer with a few more options.... debatable if its a better deal, depends on your planned usage.

Acer is okay IMO.

The Radeon 3200 is a lot better than the 4500MHD (I checked some benchmarks and video games playability)

The Acer also has HDMI which is great for the TV.

Like the OP said, it really depends on the usage

The Vostros feel & look fine to me.When I compare my Vostro 1320 and my T40 other than the T40 being over 1 pound heavier and the shiny top on the Vostro little difference. Vostro is built to be like the Lenovo in looks because it is for business not home.
