Hi All,
I was wondering if any of you'll would know of telecom companies that offer unlimited international calling to Russia, as my wife currently resides there and its getting very expensive to call her daily through calling cards.
I know that Skype has unlimited calling to Moscow and St. Petersburg but she doesn't live in those cities. She doesn't have High Speed or DSL connections there so I can't send her one of those Primus VOIP boxes either.
Just wanted to know if there was any company out here that offers flat rates per month to call unlimited either to land lines or mobiles in Russia.
Thanks!

LOL :D
You guys are funny. No, she's not a mail order bride. We met at University. She was here as an exchange student.
Though I must agree with kilarney that Russian girls are hot!
Back to my question, I checked with Comwave & Voipwise. They have unlimited rates only to 2 Russian cities i.e. Moscow & St. Petersburg. Wondering if there are other companies that offer to unlimited to the whole of Russia
Or if any of you'll know of good calling cards I can use that give good rates to Eastern Europe and Russia on the whole.
Cheers

What I did (and I have no idea if it will help you) is set up a toll free number, and then forwarded it to my home phone - that way when I was away I could just go to any pay phone and call home for free. I paid per minute which was pretty cheap (couple cents) but I have no idea how this would work internationally in Russia. Something to check out though.
Batman.

try using freecall.
the way it works is as following: you go to www.freecall.com and open an account with them. Using your credit card put some little amount there (like $10) and start using the service. They should give you up to 90 days free calls to Russia (and other countries too) and after that it will cost you something like 0.5 euro cents per minute. The main point here is you are registering some phone numbers on the account (i have my home, work and cell) and then you can call from these numbers by dialing a local number and then follow the instructions.
I have used their service for about two years now - it's fantastic!
Call quality is good, never had a single issue with charges - my card has been registered with them for auto renewal when $10 is used.
give it a try!
