someone to demo a small basement bathroom. This includes removing a small metal shower stall, cap the water lines, remove the wall tiles and cement backing with wire mesh, breaking up the concrete floor and digging down about 14 - 20 inches to relocate plumbing (the relocation of plumbing is not included in this estimate), remove and take away all debris, then backfill and repair cement floor. The bathroom is 5 feet by 7 feet. I'm estimating it to be around 24 hours of work. Thanks for you input.

More like 5-8 hours for a pro with tools. $150-200? Just throwing that number out. Don't have personal experience. I've done most of that myself in the past. Hardest part is figuring out how to dump the trash.

for the entire basement or the bathroom? Seems like you could save yourself a lot of money doing the demolition yourself. It's not hard to destroy things -- pretty difficult to build them.
As noted above -- disposal will really get you on this. It's cheaper for the home owner to do the dumping. As for 24 hours, you're meaning 3-4 days work?

Just the bathroom.. The floor is going to require a jackhammer and a good one at that. The concrete pad is over 9 inches thick. I'm guessing it will be a solid 3 days of work to get it at a point where I can think about putting tile back down on the floor

3 days until you can put tiles down??? I would let the concrete cure for at least a week before doing any work.
I also recommend doing the walls/tiles yourself, then it's only a 1 day (maybe 2) job on the floor.

I don't intend on putting down tile right away. If it's two days of labour
would say 800$ be fair.

I'm not sure $800 will cover the dumping fees.
~26 cubic feet of concrete + 14 to 35 cubic feet of soil
If this link is right: http://www.onlineconversion.com/forum/forum_1130199020.htm
Then the concrete alone will be Concrete, Gravel 150 pounds/cubic foot, 3900 lbs. Then add dirt ect. OK $800 might cover the disposal, but not disposal and labour.
edit - just trying to dig up the costs I had for dumping. I do recall that mine was mixed waste though, which made it more expensive. Maybe pure concrete would be cheaper -- something to consider.
