My unlocking kit just arrived. I'm going to unlock and FW upgrade my T300 and T616.

I can provide a service on your phones too (not just T300 and T616, but others SE phones too), $5 CAD for each service(unlocking or firmware upgrade) per phone.

They have the R4A firmware for your phone. So I can upgrade it to that.

I can unlock SE phones, but I don't think I can do the Sony's.

I think with the Nokia, all you need is the IMEI and the unlock calculator.

From what I have read so far on the web, the Nokia 3390 can't be unlocked without a cable connection.. It isn't listed as being supported under the code calculator listings I have seen. If someone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated (if possible to unlock without hardware)

According to here (http://www.cellular-support.com/nuke/ftopict-2121-3390.html), 3390 is DCT3. And according to here (http://www.cellular-support.com/nuke/ftopict-2006-3390.html), the software at that site should do fine...unless you've already tried unlocking with the incorrect code too many times.

Thanks Chatbox.. I got the phone unlocked with that info.. One place I read the guy said you couldn't unlock the 3950 with the unlock codes. But I tried it and it worked (the first time I didn't enter the GID1 of 0000 and the code didn't work, but then it did)..

With the T300, you can either get a data cable or use the infra-red to do data transfer. (I use the infra-red with my lappy).

I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but here's what I have to say:

I don't mind answering some short questions, however, a user just bombarded me with 7 questions, of which 6 of them could be been answered if he look around abit. So, please, do some homework first if possible (some of you probably know that I'm very touchy when it comes to people who don't work for knowledge).

Next, to make it clear, this is supposed to be a win-win situation for both myself and potential interest users (who don't have the unlocking cable). i.e. I get some money back for my cable, and the interest users can save themself about $25. Therefore, if anyone think they have the upper-hand of the say in this situation, you're mistaken. I will ignore you if you are annoying.

if you are still offering the deal, i'd like to get the firmware on my T310 upgraded. Its unlocked, but the signal keeps oscillating in strength, hoping a firmware upgrade will fix that. I'll hopefully be in the TO area next weekend or the weekend after that.

just to let u know u can only transfer pics to ure comp through infrared. for ring tones u can use infrared or a data cable, which btw is not the same cable used for unlocking

When you buy a heavily discounted cell phone from your provider, it will likely be locked. This will prevent you from changing service providers. ie Rogers to Fido... Unlocking the phone removes this restriction, and otherwise increases the value of your phone if you were wishing to sell it.

A firmware upgrade OTOH can improve performance, remove bugs, and possibly add features to your phone.

And lastly, unbranding can also be done. This removes all the extra pictures and custom menus that a provider installs in your phone. If you were to change providers, why keep all the crap they initially put in.

Not to hijack this thread, but I also have an SE terminator dongle. I could offer the same services in Ottawa, (and soon Victoria) for the same price.

the new r6c firmware has a RMA lock which currently cannot be unlock/flashed or modded in any normal way...

however people have opened up the phone and applied a needle on a test point which enables the flash to go. (sounds risky.. i wouldn't do it for $5.. hehhehe)

anyways for now everyone is SOL if you have a new R6C phone...
looks like the driection they will go with all locked SE's in the future...

this service is $15 cause it requires 1)RSA removal, 2)flash to new firmware and then 3)unlocking.

some phones can't be unlocked because of a new encryption.

that has been fixed and we can do it again.

the phone will always have some junk on it. a t616/z600/t637 etc..etc..

will only have about 2 mb available.

most items are built into the rom so you can't mod.. you would need a modified hex with all the extras removed... i don't have that


go see bongowireless.com if you want to upgrade your 3595... i'm not a super pro.. i can do lots of repairs but don't have the equipement to do nokia's
