Is it common to cover the wood trim on the exterior windows with vinyl?
If so, any tips on where to go and what to look our for?

I've often seen Aluminum cladding applied to wooden frames, but not Vinyl.
Not aware of any retail outlets, since I've only seen the job done by contractors.

Home Depot now sells the vinyl (or PVC, not sure which) cladding for the windows. I went through it with a salesman.
I'm not really sure it's a job you would do if you're not replacing the windows though, as unlike the aluminum I'm not sure if it just installs overtop. I thought it took the place of the wood.
