So I got incorrectly charged on duties for an item I ordered from the US. It was overcharged double the purchase price (it was assessed at $2700...) so naturally I'm going to challenge this.

On the B2G form, do I write the corrected value as:

a. the US purchase price
b. the US purchase price converted in Canadian dollars
c. the US purchase price + shipping
d. the US purchase price + shipping converted in Canadian dollars

thanks for the help and clarification

I'm pretty sure it's B.

Edit: I resently picked up a package and they converted the US amount to Canadian before calcualting the duty. No mention of shipping.

Shopping Discussion forum will get you a better answer.

The last time I was charged duty, it was option d.

I got a UPS Express package a few months ago and it was B.

Shipping price wasn't part of the amount subject to the GST and PST charged to me.
