LEGO Digital Designer. Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.
And yes, if you want to, you can actually order the crap you build, and have it shipped, packed like any other LEGO set, to your house.

A buggy I started last night.

That platform vehicle from Gears of War 2/747 landing gear.

Classic off-road pickup I'm working on right now.

Slide action of the SPAS-12 shotgun I started, but never finished. Also, you can see the parts menu.

PS
When you play it, disable filters, and hide colors. This will make finding parts easier, and will give you more choices.

Very cool. I wonder how many mechanical engineers will start using this instead of AutoCAD ;)

Lol you all make it sound like this is new and revolutionary. This program is actually pretty old.

I remember wasting a lot of time in LDraw (an unofficial 3rd party designer), then taking those models and rendering them into Povray. You can even make animations within Povray.

LDraw didn't let you order the set. This is actually pretty good, now you don't have to use all random colours if you don't have the right piece.

This is a new software right? Lego has had a browser-program that let you do the same thing but was much more limited.

Looks pretty cool, I will have to try it out although I don't think I will be ordering any parts as its generally quite expensive.

It's been for at least the beginning of the year if not last year. It's pretty fun.

Anyone remember that Lego Quake mod?

yeah those were great but expensive

Meccano was prohibitively expensive because all the parts were made of metal!

I downloaded this for my brother because he loves lego.. but it's running REALLY slow (always going to the hour glass and Not Responding). Is this happening to anyone else?

I guess it's all the games he has downloaded onto the computer..

James May recently built a full scale LEGO house. And he planned to live in it for a few days.

This will be part of his third toy-based documentary, airing on the Beeb before the end of the year. The show will also feature a world-record Sclaextric track... i.e., those eletric race cars your run on rails.

NICE!!! I've always wanted to build a massive castle and a kick-ass pirate ship. Two wishes granted in one night! In fact, I now have an itching to open all my Lego boxes in the basement. They're one part of my childhood that I made clear to my parents that they absolutely must not ever sell or give away.

I have a beef with Lego in the recent years is that the sets resort to using custom pieces, with the exception of the Lego exclusives such as the Star Wars exclusive sets. Kids these days are being deprived of creativity!

James May Toy Stories premiered today.

The Lego house episode is airing over the next month or so. Episode 1 is a build of a full-scale Spitfire out of Airfix... next week is a full-sized garden made out of plasticine for the Chelsea Flower Show.
