I know this is early, but my dad was telling me this morning how he was dreading to shovel snow when winter begins  (He hates winter...) and I think it'd be an awesome birthday/Christmas gift for him if I hired someone/or a company to shovel the snow for him. I have NO idea where to begin looking though... here are a couple things:

-House is in Mississauga.
-Fairly big driveway ... are there trucks that will come by and shovel it all quickly?
-My dad leaves for work at 5:30am EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, so the driveway MUST BE SHOVELLED BEFORE THEN (is it unrealistic to find someone since the time is so early?)

I'd want someone to do it for the whole winter season, whenever it snows (does that make sense?) I'm not sure how these things work, so if I could get some more info from you guys that would be great :) Also, what's the pricing like for this service? Again, I'm pretty clueless so any info would be great. Thanks!

(Oh, and ME helping out is not an option because I will be away for school. My brother and sister help out occasionally but they are pretty useless :P)

Edit: buying a snowblower is not an alternative as we already have one. I just want to make it easier on my dad this year.

I don't think there is any company that can guarantee removal by 5:30am unless you pay them A TON Of money.

What a nice thought for a present. I hope you find something.

Thanks, it's a nice thought but I don't know how realistic this is.

Like speedy said, I don't know how many places can guarantee the removal done by 5:30. And if it's not, there's really no point in me hiring anyone, because my dad would end up having to shovel a path to get to work anyways.

Anyone know the price range for this? If it's any help, my driveway fits at least 6 cars... I was planning to foot the bill myself, but it's looking like it will cost me more than expected  If that's the case, I'll just get my siblings to chip in if necessary..

There are a few threads on here about people getting scammed by snow removal companies... you should check them out.

We got scammed by a company last season. We hired them for our parents and the guy only showed up 2 or 3 times, and days late if at all.

I'm looking for plow service in Miss. as well.

I sure nobody guarantees it'll be done before 5:30a, pretty rude to make so much noise for your neighbors that early!

Have you checked with the neighbours on the street?
Maybe one of them wants to see their kid learn what a dollar is worth.

Pretty much all snow removal guys do commercial sites as well as residential. They will prioritize the commercial stuff first so that stores/offices will have clean walks before people show up. The chance of a residential getting done by 5:30 would be pretty minimal unless you're willing to cough up some big bucks for the privilege.
