View Full Version : Inaccessible Yellow Jacket Wasp Termination?

We've got a wasp nest underneath our front porch (concrete block structure with concrete slab top). They access the nest through a quarter size hole in the top corner (hole in mortar).
I've used the foam and the spray, but neither worked because I'm unable to hit the nest.
Does anyone know of a fumigant product that I can just fill the porch cavity with (6x5x4) and then patch the mortar?
I'm concerned that if I just patch the mortar they'll have time to make another access point.

An exterminator would have access to such products.
We had yellow jackets living in our wall. We only called an exterminator after spraying into the hole from the outside drove them -inside- our house.

I realize an Exterminator would have access to wide variety of insecticides that are controlled.
I'm looking for a product that can be had 'off the shelf' since it is a simple situation to treat.

I have the same dilema, if you ever go the exteminator route, please pass on the contact information.

I could take some picture but you'll be looking at my front porch steps with a small hole that they enter through.
The nest is not visible. It has been built in the void under the front door landing which is formed with block walls and slab top.

Okay, so my solution is to use a dust insecticide called PyGanic Dust which I dust the opening over a period of time. Wasps will track the dust into the nest and will kill off the nest fairly quickly.
It is not a controlled substance. Any suggestions on a source in the mid-town Toronto area?

I ended up using Kevin/Troy at GTA Wildlife Removal and Pest Control

Good guys. They were in the area so from call to service was a total of 2 hours.
They used a pyrethrin dust and the problem should be solved within a couple days.
