Hi,

Im thinking of buying a house in Newmarket / Aurora, and commuting daily to Yonge and Shepperd by car. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me about how long that would take in your typical rush hour. Im guessing the 404 route is the one I am looking at, as the 400s usually a mess.

Thanks.

I can't say how long the commute time will be but I will give you my experience and you should be able to add x amount of minutes to it. I work at York Mills/Leslie and when I was working 9-5 I would leave my house at 8:20am, go down the 404 from the 16th Ave. onramp and get off at finch and then drive down Don Mills the remaining distance to my work. I would usually get there at 9am +/- 5 minutes. I'd say you could do the commute in like 1hr 15min or less.

Usually on the 404 south, right after finch exit is where it usually gets really busy. I used to judge it and if it wasn't busy then I'd just get off at sheppard but more times than not I found myself getting off at finch.
