View Full Version : How to seal the grout on floor tiles

Hi guys,

I want to seal the grout on the floor tiles so the grout doesn't changes color and is easier to clean. any recommendations??

get grout sealer and apply a few coats with a sponge.

is it in a liquid form?? i thought you have to apply it with a brush..any brands you can name?

There are tons of brands but basically they are all liquid silicon. You can brush it on the grout or you can get a little bottle with a sponge like wheel so it can be rolled on. Go to any hardware type store. I have seen them at Home Depot, Rona and CT.

You should try and keep it off the tiles though, it dries on there and is difficult to remove as well as leaving a stain.

I've used the one from Home Depot for a few projects... worked well keeping it free from stains (foyer) and mold/mildew (shower). The shower one did catch some mildew again, but it quickly came off with sponge and water.

I forget the name of it (but it's from Tile Lab), but it's in the tile section and comes in yellow or green containers (liquid form).

I've used Tile Labs sealer from HD for my projects in the past and it has been great.

thank you all. i bought the tile lab sealer yesterday..now its the matter of getting on my knees and sealing all floor tiles:lol: there goes my labor day weekend!
