Best place to buy Sharp Plasmacluster air purifier [Archive]

Based on info on this board, and online, the Sharp Plasmacluster seems to be work well. I have odours coming into my condo - possibly smoke, and fragance - and I have allergies to both.

The model that would be be best for room size is FP-P60CX and second choice FP-P40CX . I've called around and can't find any place carrying the larger model (I'm in Toronto). Future Shop is selling the FP-P40CX for $299.99. Does anyone know of a better price for it? I don't want to buy online because if it doesn't work, I want to be able to return it easily.

future shop has them onsale maybe twice a year, taking about $100 off
i personally dont know other places better than the FS sale prices

FS on sale is the best price I've seen on these things. Just be patient, and buy two when they go on sale.

No kidding.

The filters cost nearly as much as the unit itself....

I bought mine at Futureshop - wait for a sale, price can drop by 30%.

Perhaps check out Home Comfort, they carry several brands of air cleaners including the PlasmaCluster. You may even be able to negotiate the price too.

Actually, if you search through RFD there was or is a member who sold Sharp Plasmaclusters. I think he mainly sold through Ebay.

Package was intact and never opened and been running strong for the last few years.

I think the BEST deals in the past for these were at FS sales using the student coupon (expired last year) and FS sales being price matched by Sears.
