MBNA advertises that they give out 100K credit limits (unsecured, I assume).
In my experiences, I have not heard of anyone having more than 35K from MBNA.
Anyone know different?

Guy to the office next to me has $100k unsecured, and used it for the 15-month 0% promotion.

I really really had a very bad experience about MBNA . Early this year I tried to increase my mastercard limit and end up they closed my account. Did anyone have that experience?

They did it for a reason, most likely due to CBR (cred bureau report) ...

Has anyone of you using MBNA recently experienced a missed/skipped paper statement?
I am very organized in general, and never skipped/lost any statement sent by mail. But for july, there was no statement. And because of this I missed one payment and I was charged interest. Am I paranoid here/MBNA is beginning to play dirty tricks with the consumers or was it an error from Canada Post? Can this process be tracked/to have some sort of proof?
Thanks.

Why does it have to be dirty tricks? As you said, it could be Canada Post. Have you contacted MBNA?
Moreover, why don't you consult "www.onlineaccess.ca" in order to see your statements? It's a very transparent process, I check it weekly (at minimum) to verify my transactions.

I know that you can also see them online, it's common sense.
My issue is that I was on vacation for a while and in general, I don't prefer looking at the MBNA cc site very often. (you know, the "don't call us, we'll call you, principle).
Due to this incident, I've decided to switch to paperless statements.
If it were a canada post-related issue, this would be for the first time happening.

Sorry to hear that. Did they give you a reason? how does your credit report look?

I used to have an MBNA credit card, but they kept increasing my limit, so I opted for a BMO mastercard. I'm happy with BMO right now.

Well everytime I made a payment in full, they tend to increase my limit. Once I reached up to $1,900 - that's why I made the point to cancel my MBNA card completely and it's not worth to have two mastercards - after all.

lol, what? $1,900 isn't even that high a limit. What's it matter if they keep increasing your limit? It's not like you actually have to spend that much. :P

$1900 is not a high limit at all.

Up to 25% of your annual reported gross income, if you get approved. It is getting a little harder to get these deals.

I just tried to raise my MBNA Smart Cash limit, the CSR told me he put me at the max for a student which supposedly is $2000. Perhaps if you get some income you can go higher.

Yes, it's a common fact with MBNA. You just need to call them once and clearly state that you wish to have you credit limit never increased. And they'll listen.
I had many ccs in the past but I cancelled all of them except MBNA. I keep it simply because it's the oldest one and second, they seemed to be very convenient with those promotional low interest balance transfers. Ah, and in case I go to US, it seems that it will be easier to share the credit history from Canada. Not that good as Citi Enrich (my wife has that) but still.

I called in and they raised my gold 0/15 to 2500 from 1500. It's not that bad as a student I guess (banks don't seem to care about co-op at all)

Don't want to be off-topic, but what does 0/15 stand for?
Thanks

I think it is $2000 max for a student without income
I got $2500 with ~$10K income/year
I wish they would do auto-CL increases again, I could use a couple >:(
My friend while in Uni and in massive OSAP debt kept getting his MBNA CL increased (from $2K to eventually $5K) without income (just by paying his bills on time in full)

I understand, my friend. As I had received my BMO Mastercard, I came to a point that I don't need two Mastercards and one credit card seems to be simple enough.
I want to keep my finances as simple as possible.
