I've done a little shopping for a line of credit (secured). Where is the best place?

Cibc offers no appraisal fee if you borrow 30,000 for 3 months. Prime+1

A new atb branch is offering prime +.5, but then I found out its only for a year. They do discount appraisal fee by 250 but there still 150 left or so.
I don't really need to borrow now, so I prefer a free appraisal like cibx, w/o borrowing though.

If I went unsecured, I'm assuming there is no appraisal fee. What is the best rate for unsecured?

Thanks

+2% is what we have, though I believe some recent threads had people indicating they have lower rates.

National Bank offers Prime+0% unsecured to health professionals.

Otherwise, best I've seen on an unsecured LOC is Prime+1.5%.

For secured LOC, National Bank is at Prime+0.8%, while most others are at Prime+1%. Prime+0% to engineers on a secured LOC from National Bank.

Some banks will pay your appraisal and legal fees on a secured LOC (for example, Canadian Tire).
