Hey I just want to know what the majority of you guys would prefer more, Apple's iTune media player or SongBird Media player.

In my opinion I am enjoying SongBird a lot more then iTunes. I've had so many issues with iTunes from crashes, program not responding, and issues with connecting with an iPod. With SongBird everything has been very responsive so far and it has been able to connect with my iPod video every time I plug it in, no issues at all.

This has been my experience so far, wondering if what others have to say though.

I've never had a problem with iTunes (at least on windows 7). It works great with my iphone and touch.

I'm using Songbird now. I got frustrated with Itunes and how bloated and slow it became about two years ago, so I switched to Songbird when it was at version 0.4. It's certainly come a long way since then. The best thing is definitely the extensions you can get, since it's built on the Firefox engine.

If it weren't for iTunes stupid "calculating gapless playback" BS, I would've never found Songbird.

Does anyone else get the feeling the creators of Songbird designed their player to intentionally look like iTunes? Well, it's been about a year since I've used Songbird and that's what I can remember about it. I'm using iTunes now and slowdowns only happen if I load my entire library which is considerable to say the least.

Just downloaded Sonbird and see what changes have been made since I last used it. Right off the bat, the sound is a lot fuller and warmer than iTunes. Radio streaming quick as well. I might use it with iTunes interchangeably for now.

I wouldn't say the layout looks exactly like iTunes. The basic filter pane layout you get looks quite different. Plus, there are plenty of extensions/add-on that you can get to change the look of the player.

Another reason why I'm liking Songbird is that it fits very well with the current theme I'm using. Changed the Skin/"Feathers" to YABS and it looks much better with my dark theme.
