Let's share the Freebies that we find by posting in this thread for the 2009 CNE.

GM will be giving out $10 gas cards for test driving a GM vehicle. Only catch is you need a valid driver’s license. Location is west side of the Automotive Building (which is closed), behind the Canadian Armed Forces. Note: You can't just show them your valid license, they record ALL of your personal information before they let you in a car. [Location courtesy of Jer-Jer]

You can go everyday, no limits to how many Petro Canada Gift cards you can get.

Freebie: Speaking of the CAF (Canadian Armed Forces) the last couple of years they have been giving away those rubber bracelets. Last year they also had carabiner keychains with a small compass attached to them.

Freebie: Kids Day's (Aug 24 & 31) and Green Day (Aug 25) as you "exit" between 4:00pm - 8:00pm you will be given a free Ontario Peach.

I got a Ex flyer in the mail.

First 1500 after 5 pm get a $5 Subway gift card.

Prince's, Dufferin or GO Train gates only. I guess if you go via Ont Place, you get nothing.

Freebie wise, there wasn't anything really notable.
From what I can remember, there was:
- Free Hot Rods in the yellow tent next to the 93.5 FM booth for filling out some form.
- Garnier hair styling products at the big Garnier inflatable tent
- Free Vitamix ice cream, juice, and soup, located in International Building A.
- There was also a booth somewhere with a wheel giving out buttons, frisbees, and stickers.

- There was also a broken vending machine in front of the farm building, dispensing "Vitamin Water" for 50 cents instead of the usual $3.00. People found it and ransacked it, so no guarantee it'll still be there tomorrow.

There was someone giving out cards for Free paintball sessions at Sgt Splatters Paintball.
on the back it says "this pass entitles 10 four hour paintball sessions"

"face mask and goggles

limited time offer"

Near the fountains in the center , beside the Bandshell stage , there is a Subway station setup , its a simple fishing game and diff. color fishes caught by a reel magnet will net one either a 5$ or a 10$ Subway cash card , lineup wasn't too long but the process is slow ....the reward was yummmmm.

Near the Subway thing is a Sunrype booth doling out 100% fruit crisps, small packs of apple crisps in diff. flavours.

Outside the Direct energy centre is a whole setup by a company called Sabra , they were handing out nice pita bite pkts with hummus dip containers and had setup a whole bar of diff. toppings like sundried tomatoes, garlic, olives , chipotle , help yourself....and ppl were helping themselves :twisted: again and again and again.

Got the pedometer mentioned earliar near Princess gate.

If you have kids , take them to Pizza Nova booth in kids area for a pizza making workshop, they learn how to make pizza , get a free slice and a pkt containing a coloring book with a future small 3 topping pizza coupon, line up early, very popular, first workshop starts at 11:45 , then 1:15 and so on.

Will add more if I recall anything else , hope this info will help some fellow RFDers to enjoy the EX to the max :D

We went for an hour yesterday. There were just too many people! Good thing it was only $1.75 to get in!

No free Iams food (Superdogs is now President's Choice) :(
No free razors (didn't see a Schick booth this year) :(
No free Shell gas cards (hopefully they're there the next couple weekends) :(
No OLG booth with free coupons (they were there the year before last) :(
No free Fibre One bars near Ricoh like last year with that game where you could win a free mug or shirt :(
Much fewer freebies in the Garnier booth (didn't see Cappucino or any facial products) :(
It looks like there's some kind of cheese freebie in the International Market Place but I'm not sure what. It was just too busy to enjoy yesterday.

I've got a bunch of passes to get in (I bought 6 for $40 from the Rotary Auction last year) so we'll still be going multiple times, but I'm not as excited as previous years. I was so sad last year that Global didn't do that game. We did quite well at that (got a train trip to Quebec City out of it!) We'll get a $10 gift card anyway for test drives and see if we can get more than one for multiple test drives.

Next weekend, the cat show is going on and for the last few years, there are various pet food companies there giving out nice sized samples so anyone who has a pet should go next weekend. Sadly that's the weekend of the Sci-Fi expo at MTCC so I'll be missing out on cat food! :(

Free cheese grater if you sit in for the cheese demo and free silicone baking sheet for the cooking demo. All you need is cheese stage inside Festival Hall.

With the GM test drive in addition to $10 petro gas card you also get a black cloth bag with a L'oreal kit of shampoo, conditioner and face mask probably worth over $10

at the princess gate theres a loreal booth on the left hand side when u enter from the gate. they are giving away bottles of shampoo, conditioner and hair mask. line up and listen to them talk for like 45 secs and you get a set box. it is not those small samples its actually a larger decent sized bottle. shampoo is 89ml conditioner is 89 ml as well and the hair mask is 50ml

And that is a nice sample -- it specifies for colour treated hair, but I'm sure it'd be good for anyone. I saw it for $15 at SDM.
