well i got a new comp and i wanted to transfer some files from the old comp to the new one. i found usb1 to be a drag so i decided to put in a pci usb 2 bus but failed and now i get the "invalid system disk, replace the disk, then press any key" messege.

alright i got the startup disk to work and then i transferd all the system files over but when i start it normally again i see the normal windows logo for a split second and then it tell me that i am missing these system files:
HIMEM.SYS
EMM386.EXE
DISPLaY.SYS
COUNTRY.SYS

and it also says there is something wrong with the cpu and tells me to check the cpu boot menu -_-'

anyhelp?
THANKS!

You will need win98 versions of those 4 files and copy them back to the hard disk in the root of C:\. Make a win98 boot disk using a win98 system or look online for a win98 boot disk and grab the 4 files. There is a difference between win98se and win98 so it may take a few tries if your not sure which win98 your running.

In the BIOS is where you need to set the cpu parameters, on older hardware you actually need to set each parameter as it probably won't auto-detect. Typically requiring you to pull off the HSF and visually confirm which CPU you have then grab the specs off the internet and enter them in the BIOS.

I would deal with the BIOS first because if the settings are way off this could be why it's not reading the 4 files properly.
