Their specs are completely different from one-another. Do you have a brand preference?

I have not heard anything good about HP laptops lately.

Plenty of choice...but the two that you have shown aren't even comparable:

Differrent processor, screen size, memory, os, etc...

You would be better off asking for help getting the best system for whatever your budget is....with clear specifications as to what you want and/or don't want.
