Hey guys, so I've been searching the web for the best and cheapest way to fix my cracked LG E300 screen (I stepped on it last night ). Its still under LG warranty until september and I have already called and submitted a repair request. I'm wondering, does anyone know how much it costs typically to fix a screen? as well as how much LG would charge. The retail value of this less than 1 year laptop was $1,000.

LG couldnt quote how much it was until I actually send it in (but im guessing any crack results in a replacement and therefore the same cost) so if I can find a cheaper option I may go with it. I live in Ottawa so I'd like something close by if possible. I also go to Queen's University and know they may fix laptops but I know LG isnt one they are certified to fix.

Any advice? I'd hate to be forced to use this laptop as a desktop now.

If you are looking to get it fixed on the cheap, try your local independant computer stores and get a quote. Screens are normally pretty cheap, I would say <$150 if it is a 15 inch or less. Could be wrong tho. Ask around. You could also ask LG if they have any authorized computer repair technicians in the area.

could it really be that cheap? Mine is a 13.3 screen. I would love if I could actually get a better screen. Does anyone know any reputable computer repair shops in Ottawa that they would recommend?
