I'm looking to purchase a VOIP service with a unique phone number. I was thinking vBuzzer, but not sure what the exact price is. Which VOIP is the cheapest and the best?

Do you want the cheapest or the best, or something between the two? What are your anticipated usage patterns?

So the Vbuzzer (http://www.vbuzzer.com/pc_to_phone_rates.php) web site don't give you any information. Its quite helpful.
Check Emoci's thread about VOIP. you will find one under expired freebies also.

I can't seem to find prices for a static number. I just see rates.

I'm in the same boat hope OP doesn't mind asking this.... if all I need is a Toronto 416/647#, what is the cheapest monthly VOIP service? I'm guessing Vbuzzer but I'd need both incoming/outgoing capability which theirs is $50/year so around $5/month with taxes or their U$ conversion.
I'm thinking callcentric may be cheaper as I won't be using lots of minutes...just need a loal # just incase.

Honestly, Vbuzzer is a decent price if you plan on using it regularly; US$50/yr = US$4.17/mo.
Callcentric is US$1.95/mo for the DID plus a one-time $3.95 setup fee and $0.015 per minute.
Voip.ms is US$1.49/mo plus a setup fee of $0.50 and $0.0100 per minute.
You'd need to make more than ~2 hours of calls per month for VBuzzer to be cheaper than Callcentric, or ~4 hours of calls per month for VBuzzer to be cheaper than voip.ms.

I use Primus Voip at my place.. Its pretty good and it works well.. The quality is not land-line but good enough for me. Its got some nice features with its web portal, it emails me my voice-mail. I bought the ATA from them and so I pay $15.95 a month and use world line for my long distance.
I have also seen some postings about this one: freephoneline.ca (http://freephoneline.ca)

freephoneline also has voice-mail via e-mail option.
They added new feature which is Fax by e-mail. So you login and click on the fax message and view it. This Nice feature added recently.

if that's the case, I should just get the config file for freephoneline people. I emailed them yesterday about porting Q and already received a reply today. So seems like they're getting better at answering customer inquiries.
Not to shabby for one time fee I guess.
