I have a DX digital scale that I need to calibrate:

Problem is that I need to find a 1000g weight to do the calibration, but have nothing in the house I KNOW is 1000g exactly. I've thought of a few solutions, but each has its problems:
1. Using water (i.e., 1L is 1000g) - but have to take into account weight of container; also dependent on other factors such as temperature, etc.
2. Using coins (e.g., one loonie is 7g) - cumbersome and coins may not add up to 1000g exactly
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.
