Hello,
Im looking to get a palm device and currently looking at the tungsten e2 (i know there kinda old), but may also consider a sony clie. My main concerin is if these units use flash memory and if and when the battery runs out does all the information on the unit get deleted. I know that the information can be backed up on a pc.

Thanks

Also any thoughts on any devices that dont erase memory when battery dies would be appreciated (nothing to expensive)

The e2 uses non-volatile memory, so your data is safe. The PDA market in general is outdated. The e2 itself is about 4 years old, its ancient. You're better off with a smart phone.

Yes I do have a smart phone the nokie E71 which is great. The reason I want the pda currently looking at the Tungsten is because I would like to be able to store contacts/addresses and personal information such as bank and financial info on it and keep it at home so just incase my phone gets lost or my computer is not around and I need to access such info it would be there for me. So im assuming the model im looking at would be able to do that eventhough the battery goes correct?

Thanks for the reply

Yes, your information would be safe even when the battery runs down.
