I'm looking at purchasing a blu ray player and have found the cheapest entry level model to be at amazon.ca. It is the Samsung BD-P1600 for $250. http://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-BD-P1600-1080p-Blu-ray-Player/dp/B002EHYSZU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1250392371&sr=8-1

Does anyone recommend anything else?

check your walmart, I remember passing by today and seeing a samsung blu ray player for $249.97 there, save on shipping.

If you don't mind:

a) Shipping
b) Refurbished (but by Pros, and often there's nothing wrong - just returns form Costco etc.)....

1)LG BD360 $190 (http://refurbished.ca/shop/en/lg-network-blu-ray-disc-player-bd360)

2)Samsung BD-P1500 $150 (http://refurbished.ca/shop/en/samsung-blu-ray-disc-1080p-player-bd-p1500)

3) Samsung BD-P1590 $190 (http://refurbished.ca/shop/en/video/samsung-blu-ray-1080p-bd-p1590)
