Will try to figure out how to post our pm thread.

Anyway, avoid this guy. Has the nerve to send me bad feedback when he had none to start with.

Re: Ram

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I am trying to arrange a deal with another person for some ram. If that doesn't go through I'll probably hold onto the 512 module for $10 and return the 1 gig. Give me a day or two to sort this out. I'll be in contact.

Otherwise, if you can, I will be home after 6pm for sure. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Are you located in North York or nearby? I'll be at Yonge & Eglinton today or tomorrow. If that' convenient for you we can arrange a time. I'll be at in the Keele & Lawrence/Eglinton area (near humber) early tomorrow afternoon. Richmond Hill this weekend.

If none of these times or places are convenient for you, give me a better idea of where you are located.

To avoid a negative trade experience and a headache, avoid "P4 Type R".

Would have been glad to have left this at a negative rating, but this kid gave me a spite rating because I gave a negative rating for a negative trade experience. Fault 100% his.

--
(original rating)
"Sold bad ram-said it might not work but would test before sale-Refunded but rude"
The threat of giving me a bad rating and the rude reply was what got you the negative rating. Overall it was a negative experience, I don't think I should have any reason not to rate the transaction. The staff can read the private messages and decide whether or not this is justified if you have a complaint. If you give me a spite rating, it will be just that, because I was very accommodating, going to your house both for the buy and the return.

--
(my comment in return rating by P4 Type R with quotes from his comment)

"- sent over 20 emails
- would not provide name, had to call him CK
- would not give contact number or email"

20 e-mails? Not a single e-mail was sent. Private messages were sent, because that is my preferred method of communication. It is my personal choice not to provide my private contact information. As for deserving to be banned? Nothing wrong was done on my behalf. You can't give a negative rating just because you got one, sorry about your ego. If you asked for my name I would have given it to you. The phone conversation was brief and basically was only to get directions to your house. I will take this up with the staff.

"- told him one ram was unstable and that I would refund but still said I sold bad parts"

(taken from PM)
No worries man. It's my fault for not being clear on specs and such. I'm trying to setup another system to test this ram. I'm not comfortable selling 'unstable' stuff so once I get the kinks out, I'll see if it is OK to sell to you. Take care.

"- promised to show up a couple of times but did not - had to delay my schedule"

BS and you know it. I change MY schedule to get to your house after 6pm when you got home from work. On both occasions I showed up to YOUR house. I will give it to you that you did offer to travel if I needed to return the ram, however my dad was willing to drive to your house to return it.

"- I sold one 512mb (good ram) and one 1gb (untested unstable ram) but I allow full refund of both despite only promising the refund of the 1gb"

(taken from a PM)
Sure, you can return both if they don't work as long as you pickup and drop off.

"P.S.

I was mature enough to ignore this and not give him any rating as he had none and a negative one would basically kill his trading experience."

I sent him a PM indicating that I was not going to give him a negative rating, since the return went smoothly. His rude response is the only reason I decided to give him a negative rating.

both you and ck86 both made threads warning people about each other but in each thread i still don't know what's going on HAHAHA. if both threads are confusing i think that you guys probably just had a misunderstanding

The first rating sums it up and I've spent enough time on something that should have ended with the first rating.

Here's the story in chrono order

- he had a thread about needing ram
- I pm him what I have, 1pc 512mb generic good ram and 1pc unstable Corsair ram. I told him my mobo had always been picky with ram and was not able to test.
- several more pms - I give him exact model # of Corsair and then gives me attitude thinking I gave him laptop specs - he apologizes though
- I said that's ok and I promised to take back the bad ram with full refund if he was unhappy with it
- I try to get his contact, #, address for delivery etc but he would never reveal the detail
- follows-up on me impatiently for the ram again
- I tell him I have one other motherboard to test the Corsair but do not have a pci-e card to set the system up, please be patient
- he decides to go ahead anyway and take both ram, said he would pickup because he would not reveal any contact info
- first pickup was ok but a little late
- several days later, almost a week, pms me back about returning all the ram, good and bad
- I said I normally don't take back good items but will in this case
- he pms me a day to return back to my house but was a no-show, my wife and I had to to grocery shopping but cancelled waiting for him
- he then gets his dad to drop it off but gives me some fuzzy time frame, again I offer to pickup since I work in Richmond Hill where his dad lives, no luck, wants to do everything through pm with no real name, no address, no phone #
- his dad picks up and goes
- he then pms me a day later saying he will not give me bad feedback
- I was like, WTF? - I told him I was going to give him negative feedback but since he was a newbie, I just ignored it
- a few weeks later, suddenly a negative feedback appears
- I then return the favour

In summary, not sure what I did wrong. I declared the item faulty details, offered refund and delivery, gave all my contacts (address, home and work phone) but not get it in return, and I get a negative feedback from someone with 0 feedback and 1 month membership?

What do you guys think, I am still saving all PMs for reference.

ck86 response to my pm:

You pm'd me on July 27 and was a no-show, had to send your dad on the 28th:

ck86: No problem, I'll drop by your place a bit after 6pm.

ck86: My dad said the exchange went fine. You don't have to worry about your rating since you warned me ahead of time that it might not work and the return went smoothly (i just won't put a rating).

ck86
Aug 20th, 2009, 11:16 AM
That is an accurate time line of what happened. It's true that I said I was going to return the ram but later postponed it (had to check my private messages to verify that). My dad was insistent on dropping off the ram rather than having you go to his house, so I had to work with his schedule. I have to accept responsibility for that part.

However, the original deal was for the 1gb and the 512mb sticks, which I considered to be a package since I wanted a 1gb upgrade. The 1 gig stick didn't work and if you meant I couldn't return the working ram, you were vague. Also, you did indicate early on in the messages exchanged that you were uncomfortable selling unstable ram and that you would test it on another system.

I think we can agree that we've both spent a lot of time on such a small deal.

I am not going to delete the rating since you continue to deny any fault of your own. After reviewing the entire transaction period it seems it was mostly miscommunication and impatience. It's a shame to have your rating record tarnished over such a trivial deal

Well put and I agree that this is bickering and petty.

I don't care about a perfect rating...no body is perfect anyway in life.
The lesson I learned is to not sell anything untested, regardless how soon the buyer wants it.

so what's the problem here? ck86 you got your money back so why the bad rating? the other dood even took back the good ram when he said he wouldn't. because he wouldn't admit to fault you give him a bad rating? HAHAHAHAHA that's the worst excuse i've heard. what do you want him to admit to? that the ram was faulty. he mentioned it before you bought it and you took it anyway and he even refunded it to you after you tried it out. for all we know you could have damaged it within the week that you had it.

+1 for other dude
