Sounds like you can only go in there and participate in the mini games but not able to watch a match right?

According to the site, it appears the match is part of the schedule meaning you may or may not be allowed to watch it. Nothing confirmed, just going with what I see.

Hey guys!!
For those of you who wanna come down to watch a match for below face value prices, I'm selling tickets to the 1st round, 3rd round, and the quarterfinals here at http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=772858.
Don't worry about the topic being locked and all. Some guy thought it was against the rules to resell tickets, but we already cleared that up in the air... and the forum admins have been informed of this.
Cheers.

Guys keep in mind that this weekend is qualifying matches. These will almost all be no name players trying to get into the 1st round to earn some tour points. Don't expect to see any players you know or have heard of, unless you are a huge tennis fanatic who follows the juniors.

I bought tickets to the finals a couple of years ago and got invited to go down to watch the quallies. Don't remember whether I had a good time, but might go tomorrow since there doesn't seem to be much else to do. Do they let you bring in food and drinks? I don't recall. Only remember that they checked our bags.

I read from the website that you are not allowed to bring food and drink.
For people who went there before, how does it work? How many qualifying games are there on Saturday alone. If you get free tickets, can I choose the time of the match? How many courts are there in the area? I came from Ottawa to watch this (free) event. So the big guys DO NOT need to play at the qualifying ???
How early should I be there? they say the gate opens at 9:30am

The top players still go and practice.
I've gone 3 years. Last time when i went sunday (family day) I have a bunch of pictures of federer practicing in the big stadium. I was sitting front row. The staium wasnt packed though cuz it was only "practicing". I have picks of Nadel too and others.

i went last year, but it was raining on that day so i couldn't realli watch a match (i realli wanted to watch the men play since i always attended the women's tournament in york)
1. you don't choose the timing of the match, you can watch all the matches that day --> no designated seat assignments, so its a first come first serve basis.
2. a couple of courts; don't know the exact numbers but you can watch some big names play at the training courts if you're lucky (i.e. a tennis ball once flew over the fence and hit me in the back. I turned around and who did i see? it was henin-hardenne training in the courts that made a clumsy return O_o)
3. I went 30 mins prior to the gates opening (9:00am) and was able to get my ticket. There wasn't a line last year and people were able to get in early. I would say that arriving at the gates at 9:00 would be good. They have lots of events and sponsors hosted around the main court.
4. The big names don't need to join the qualifying matches, especially the seeded players. It's only the no names that play the qualifying rounds to get into the tournament =/

I went today with my boyfriend and had a really nice time. I recently began learning to play tennis, so it was fun to go out and watch a match. Thanks for posting this, op!

no. you can watch lots of matches in the qualifying rounds (outside courts or centre courts 300 Level). you may also get to watch top players practice at the practice courts/outside courts from time to time.
this free "family" event used to be sunday only; now extended to include saturday too. its usually nice to get there early (before it gets really crowded) to get a tour of the grounds and some gift bags/freebies. just remember to apply lotsa sunblock as it can get really hot! tip: visit the rexall booth for free sunblock.
