For those who can't get the Costco deal, I suppose patience has payed off.
On 3 year contract with Voice + Data plan equal or greater than $45.
HTC Dream (White) (http://www.rogers.com/web/link/wirelessBuyFlow?forwardTo=PhoneThenPlan&productType=normal&productId_Detailed=DREAMWHTR&N=52+11)
HTC Dream (Black) (http://www.rogers.com/web/link/wirelessBuyFlow?forwardTo=PhoneThenPlan&productType=normal&productId_Detailed=DREAMBLKR&N=52+11)

Costco still has the 100 credit, so 79.99 - 100

Does this mean people that got the phone for $99, can get a price adjustment?

alot were projected to be here in July, well its August. Don't hold your breath.
If i'm not mistaken, they will be using the 700mhz band... which would somewhat limit the handset availability

The Iphone doesn't use that band, and since only one company in Canada offers the Iphone, being on or off a contract is somewhat moot, if that is the handset you want.

Yes it will definitely limit the handsets to be released. I supposed what thornyhill means is the the price of the contracts will lower once other competitors (let's not kid ourselves its all about Globealive) enters the market.

I'd try to get the $20 credited.

don't sign a contract period, it doesn't matter what is coming, there is enough competition out there that signing a contract means you can never get lower prices

An unlocked iPhone can use any SIM and Bell is also gearing up for SIMs.

Well I've been in numerous contracts with Rogers and I constantly get lower prices as I call for various new packages to lower my overall costs. It just means that you are stuck with one vendor but I would argue that my "contracted" price is lower than anything I've seen so far in these forums and I prefer Rogers overall to the dated technology of Bell or Telus. That should all change in Nov if Bell/Telus actually release their 4G GSM network on schedule. I personally would not want to be the first to mass beta test their network...

I'm assuming the idea is to not sign a contract and wait to see what the new companies provide, we already know what telus bell etc. are offering.
Globalive looks pretty good but won't know until they launch and provide some pricing on plans/features

If you are within 15 days, that is the limit for price protection... If you are within 30 days, or 30 minutes, just return the phone, then renegotiate a new contract based on the new hardware price. Although, not sure if they are still offering the 6 GB plan.

Forgot but were people successful in getting the 99 price for a HUP? I am looking to upgrade and this would be a great deal.

The anticipation is KILLING ME.....of course., anybody can use a sim card...the question is...will MY CELL be compatible on this network that *all of a sudden NOW* uses sim cards...
Telus uses sim cards in their iden/Mike phones...what does that mean to EVERY ROGERS CUSTOMER...?? ZILCH. ;)

Sorry, "any SIM" is incorrect, it should be "any GSM SIM".
You are correct, Telus Mike is an iDEN CDMA phone/SIM card. The unlocked iPhone only works on GSM, this includes networks in the U.S. and many countries that use GSM. Get a pay-as-you go in the country you're in thus avoiding heavy roaming charges. I'm sure many of you know that already.
Perhaps it's all part of Apple's global domination plan, lol.
http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008/10/10/bell-telus-gsm.html
This makes good business sense as Bell/Telus will be able to profit from people who have unlocked GSM phones where previously it was an untapped source of revenue.
