Gameloft iPhone/iPod Touch sale: Hero of Sparta & Ferrari GT Evolution $0.99 each

I noticed there is a lot of new iPhone owners here and iPod touch owners from the Apple free iPod touch promotion. Gameloft currently has Hero of Sparta and Ferrari GT Evolution for $0.99 each on iTunes. Both games debuted at $9.99 and were on sale for $5.99 but this is the cheapest I have seen them. Hero of Sparta recieved a 9/10 from IGN and Ferrari GT got a 7.3/10. I wasn't sure if I should put this in the hot deals forum or phone forum but I think they are both a good deal.

Hero of Sparta FTW!!! such a fun game, but drains the battery extremely fast. I had to charge my iphone TWICE in one day! I even turned down the brightness and still sucked it dry.

I am still using a 2G iPhone so it is JB but all the apps don't always work properly installing them that way.

all apps should have trial versions. its far to easy to get duped into buying a game thats utter crap that you wouldn't take if it was free.

Even I'm not cheap enough to use installous over $1-2 apps. I have used it in the past to try a bunch of To-Do type apps before buying one though.

Tried the lite version of sparta a little while ago and thought it was a pretty cool hack and slash. Installing that one right now. I'll have to try out ferrari GT lite to see how it handles.

You just don't have the confidence with jailbreaking that your applications are going to work down the road. There very well could be a time where Apple eliminates all holes in the software. Even the Dev team didn't want to release the 3.0 jailbreak for fear the hole would be fixed in 3.1.

People spend 30$ on a DS game, something like Cooking Mama, and yet its 1$ in the App store.

I am really hoping for a premium App store to come out, where all the games are say 15-30$, and you have Square Enix releasing Final Fantasies and other top notch DS quality games. Nintendo publicly stated the Iphone is a DSi competitor.

I am taking advantage of this race to the bottom pricing scale in the App store while it lasts, because I just don't think quality apps will be developed at such low price points down the road.

Great price, picked up Hero of Sparta when it went on sale a while back and will consider Ferrari GT. I learned to watch youtube reviews of games before purchasing, even $0.99 ones. A lot better than waiting for a trial to come out, if at all. Never been "duped" when I do my research, only when I bought a couple 99 cent apps on impulse or descriptions/photos alone and got burned. Also, most apps don't stay on sale forever so if you really want one you can sit on it for days but usually not weeks.

I also recently picked up the Price is Right and Spore Origins on sale, lots of fun for a buck.

Defender Chronicles is on sale for 0.99 until August 9th. Its a pretty fun and unique TD game with very nice graphics and high production value.

I'm not sure I've got the time to keep a dedicated App store sale list thread running, but I actually missed above that Spore Origins was only $0.99 right now (so I picked it up).

If nobody else will I'll start it up but I don't want users to get disappointed if I can't keep it updated like, say, Neksus with the TIVs. Or KC with the EB DotD thread.

Hero of Sparta has been on sale for a while. It's not a very good game.
