Strange wording. It isn't "$10 card". It is "$10 valued card"
So, it might be a coupon giving you $10 off a $100 purchase or something among the lines... It sure has $10 value, but generally worthless :)

They ask for your access code and name for the phone audio. I think it's a way to seperate the real potential customers and prospects from the RFD members

I would recommend to join the audio conference just to be on the safe side though.

While looking at it, I'm will probably be using the chalcogendide hemi-stator switch for the server. I found that the chiral reflux of the sub-Ohmic dissipative elements could effectively renormalized by the infrared reflectivity of the phroxtol Cpu offloader. The diplar malevolence of the semi-coptic frequencies, discussed by the guy, is inverted simply by shorting the drivvel leads to the pesel underneath the rhombic pnictogen filters for the storage resource.
It's basicly helping you being more efficent with your servers.

Pretty sure you don't need to enter any info or join the conference call. The link contains a unique ID so as long as you click it to enter the webinar I think you should be okay. I'm guessing the conference line is just a generic passcode to join, so there's no way to track who joins or not, and they're not going to comb through everyone's spoken name to figure out who actually listened in or not.

edit: my organization actually uses citrix so I'll keep listening/watching.

2. Send an email to the host (Nathan Florence) with your name and address - asking for the coffee card.

Just received an email thanking me for attending the Webinar:

"To receive a complimentary Tim Horton’s gift card, valued at $10.00, you must be a Canada based customer or prospect of Citrix Systems Inc and participate in a Coffee Break for the first 25 minutes or more. Those who join a Coffee Break already in progress more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time are not qualified to receive a gift card. Qualified participants will receive their gift card within 2-4 weeks following the event. Cards will be delivered to you using the address you provided during registration. Citrix Employees, partners and their family are not qualified to receive gift cards."

Says nothing about sending an email or completing the survey (but I did complete the survey anyways).

Looks like they're trying to back out of sending the gift card. They better be careful, as my company actually has use for Citrix NetScaler systems... Would hate to cost them a client worth thousands over a gift card worth $10 (but will gladly do so if a company breaks their word to me - even if my alternative is slightly more expensive).

This is hilarious!

Let's recap the situation here...

Citrix decided to put on a webinar for their potential customers only.
They decided to offer $10 gift cards as an incentive to these potential customers.
Somehow, the "sociopaths" ;) at RFD caught wind of this promotion.
Many RFDers tried to scam Citrix out of gift cards by registering for the webinar even though they were not potential customers.
Citrix now seems to have scammed you guys back by changing the rules for receiving the gift card.
So instead of scamming Citrix for $10, you wasted your time.
And now some RFDers (like eightyeight) are crying and threatening that they will not recommend Citrix anymore and may even pull their business (as if you actually have the ability to make your employer do such a thing )

I am sitting here and laughing.
You guys can complain all you want, but I have to applaud Citrix.
It's refreshing to see a company fight back against people that were openly screwing with their promotion.
Bravo Citrix!

I don't see where you guys think that they are trying to back out!

pintobean

where on earth do you see them backing out on giving the gift card??
Well if you have a look at some of the posts made by other people in this thread, you'd see that it certainly appears as if they're trying to weed out the RFD members from getting the gift cards.

The very first post in this thread contained the terms and conditions for receiving the gift card which said:
Coffee Breaks are intended for Citrix customers and prospects only.
Then RFD member mistyrivers said that she watched the entire webinar and it said that you needed to email the host asking for the gift card:
There were two things you needed to do to get the coffee card...Send an email to the host (Nathan Florence) with your name and address - asking for the coffee card.
So mistyrivers sent the email and the host replied by asking her what company she worked with:
Thanks Misty, What company do you currently work with?
The rational conclusion here is that if mistyrivers says she works for McDonalds or is unemployed or lists some other company that isn't a Citrix customer or potential customer, Nathan is going to tell her that she failed to meet the terms and conditions in order to get the gift card. And if she lies and says that she does work for a Citrix customer, she'll probably get some additional questions to answer.

The bottom line is that this company wised up to the RFD effect and is taking measures to prevent themselves from getting screwed out of hundreds of dollars.

It's alright to be jealous, brah. I'll buy you a coffee with my $10 GC, k?

where does it say you have to send an email? and where did he say this:

"Thanks Misty, What company do you currently work with?"

At the beginning of the seminar the facilitator said that if you want to get your coffee card you would need to email Nathan Florence to get your coffee card.

I emailed Nathan.

His response was:

"Thanks Misty, What company do you currently work with?"

FYI, update:
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your interest in the Citrix webinar a few weeks ago. For those people that attended – your Tim Horton’s card has been ordered, and you should receive it shortly.

I have not been able to reach out to each person individually yet, however if you had immediate interest, please contact me directly.

Attached is the Whitepaper that we built this web seminar on. Please let me know if you require any further information.

Thanks
