Hello
I am currently leasing a vehicle from Ford, and it is expiring soon.
However, my mileage went over approx. by 1,000km. In my leasing contract it states I will have to pay $0.12/km overage.
So, 1,000km x $0.12 = $120.00 + Tax.
Is this the amount that I have to pay for my mileage? Is there any additional fee such as Penalty fee that I have to pay for overage in general?
Anyone have experiences with paying overage on miles?

No that should be it. Note that some (but not all) leasing companies allow you to buy more kms before the end of your lease at a rate lower than what they charge at the end; however given you're near the end of your lease this probably isn't possible anymore. 1000km is nothing big, $120 is not a huge deal. A lot of people go so far over that they are essentially forced to buyout their lease.

okay thanks a lot *relief*
As long as there are no hidden fee for mileage penalities, I'll be fine~

Another option is to get another car from them (like another lease for example). You don't necessarily have to buy out "this" out; they'll still waive the excess especially in your case it's so little. Just thought it might be useful to know.

LOL I'm at 79,300 and my limit is 80,000... returning the car this week... I'm quite happy to use up almost all my km and give them no free ones lol.

or be like my idiot buddy, who removed his Mazda ABS sensor and effectively drove over 150K on his lease.

You won't know what else you are responsible for until you get the inspection done, they may ding you for tires, brakes, scratches, dents, etc.

How does that work? ABS sensor is more for speed changes which require ABS to come on.

Why don't you ask Ford? Large company like that, I'm sure they'll help you read the fine print, again.
