Hey guys,
I've done mounds and mounds of research, and i've prepared questions and a direction and strategies, but I'd like to see some court action live, is there a way to get access to when speeding trials are in advanced and arrive as an observer to see how the process works?
All i've seen so far is paralegals making deals, and charges withdrawn, I've never seen an actual trial where the officer takes the stand as a witness.
Or would I just show up to the court and hope there is a speeding trial that day?

Spend a day at the courts. There's no special access required. They just open the door and let everyone in.

ST. THOMAS, Ont. - An Ontario Provincial Police officer who crashed into a hydro pole has been charged under the province's stunt driving legislation - resulting in his police vehicle being impounded.
Police say 31-year-old Const. Jeff McNorgan, an officer with one year of police service with the Elgin County detachment in southwestern Ontario, was travelling on the Nova Scotia Line at the time of the accident.
McNorgan and his passenger, Const. Brian Watson, were uninjured but taken to hospital for observation.
The police vehicle sustained extensive damage in the collision.
McNorgan has been charged with stunt driving for excessive speed, his licence suspended for seven days and the police vehicle in question impounded as required under the legislation.
McNorgan is scheduled to appear in St. Thomas Provincial Court on the Aug. 28.
Trial date is on August 28 :).

hahahaha.....I don't know why exactly, but this made me LOL. Great post thanks. It's not completely relevant, but it might be worth checking out. I'm going down to the court on Tuesday and seeing if there are any speeding charges.
I just want to see what the formalities are: besides bowing, the JP really stomped all over my face saying "It's a speeding tickets, stop playing games"

yeah, your best bet is to just show up and sit around.
but more than likely you'll get paralegals reduced charges/cop not showing up.
if you're expecting a law & order type of exchange in court, it ain't happenin'

heh, I know, I've done a lot of prep for my trial like I said. All i've seen is paralegals making deals, I've never got to stay around for a trial. I've read through case law and it seemed extensive and long so I have to make sure I can beat the crown on every point.
Paralegals imho do as little work as possible and get paid a really high amount of money per. In 1 hour at the court representing a lot of cases that make deals or officer doesn't show, they make let's say $300 per case, at 6-8 cases that's an average of $2100 each day... WTF!
anyways....I just want to go and get lucky and see a cop get grilled...and have the JP tell him "officer you sir are dumb" :D
