Great camera, solid price, I would recommend the nikkor 18-200mm lens with this.

Newegg.ca = Canadian Dollars
Newegg.com = US Dollars

Look at the top, right of every page. "All prices shown in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified."

What exactly does "recertified" mean anyways? :confused:

A customer's return and it is cleaned and repackaged for resale ?

I have and love the d40 just wish it had the autofocus built into the body...d40x is the same, so it is hard for me to rationalize this purchase...but you get 4 extra megapixels and .5 extra shots per second....damnit!!!

Anyone know the going rate for a used d40? so I can understand what my actual cost for the upgrade would be?

Could be that or a defect was found on a run of units, was repaired but now can't be sold as new anymore.

The only thing I would worry about is the warranty. It seems like a Nikon USA body so you will not get support from Nikon Canada for it.

I bet you could find a used one in good shape with kit lens for the same price.

Why not get the Tamron 17-50 2.8 or the new Nikkor 35mm 1.8, prime is fun :)

don't bother upgrading...
same sensor, more megapixels shoved from it... you might as well stick with the D40... I have one, the only logical jump would be to D90...

or if you're ballin' just go straight to D700 and experience full frame.. just that it'll cost you a pretty penny...

I would pay $100 more for a brand new D60 with full canadian warranty.
