Staples must be putting up deals like this just to grab attention. It doesn't make any sense. They could have easily put it up for $149 and people would still be drooling over it. They just want to get people's hearts beating inordinately fast.

Staples used to ask me to enter my postal code prior to logging in. That's how i figured they showed me stock.. now they don't. I just cleared cookies so it's not a setting. How is it you guys are checking stock based on different locations? Ie. ontario vs BC.

Cookies aren't it. Did it on a box I just finished installing the OS on minutes ago. So no cookies period, and it still went to the main site. I also cleared em on another box. Both boxes are different external IPs.

I believe these braindead idiots at staples are basing your locale off your IP. Shakes head. supperrrr useless for many reasons. ex. For me my ip appears toronto based and I'm in Ottawa. Frankly, the IT department at Staples should be fired including all those in the corporation responsible for their web presence. I could go on..but we know the story.

Staples didn't post this deal. See this is where the problem is. Staples get's labeled as being the bad guy here. Some guy searches their website for some unbelievable, 1 instock clearance item, posts it here and then Staples gets a bad rap for not having stock available.

It is really too bad. Staples is a good company, that has served RFD very well over the years, yet they've receive the dubious label of stOOpleS. What should really get our blood boiling is retailers who DO advertise great deals, but either never had the stock or had in very limited quantities.

seems like this company barely ever has stuff for offers so they keep their prices of 17$ laptops online even though it hasn't been in stock for years to get people's attention, to get them into the stores so that they'll at least have a chance to open up their wallet.

Just got a call from stoople retards saying that they can't deliver because the item is discontinued and OOS. So typical of stooples. Talked to a Stoople CSR Manager ... and now I am so proud of my own IQ.
