Im expecting a package that is being shipped by purolator, but nobody is home during the day...do they leave you a pickup notice at canada post, or do they keep trying to delivery it...and if so how many times do they try before "giving up" and what do they do afterward?
is it possible to put a note on the mail box telling the guy to leave it beside the garage?

If no one is home Purolator will leave a slip instructing you to pick up the package at the nearest Purolator depot. However, if you call the number on the slip, you can also reschedule delivery for another day if you'd prefer.
You could try leaving a note. I know my driver accepts my notes. Leave a note saying you authorize Purolator to leave the package without a signature, and the tracking number, date, name, and signature.

When I used to not have a SNR sticker, I believe they'd leave a pickup notice and hold the package for a while...
If you want, you can sign up for a Signature Not Required (SNR) sticker at one of their depots, and they'll always leave it at your door.

How long will Purolator hold a package at the depot?
I'm suppose to send in my laptop to dell, but I'm headed out of town for 2 weeks.

I wouldn't recommend the note idea. What if someone comes at your door and sees the note and get the package?

its no less safe then getting one of those stickers that says they can leave your package without signing
but i agree,..i wouldnt want a package just sitting infront of my door
