FTA question

Thought I'd turn to the place I always do before departing with my hard earned $ but I searched and can't seem to find much info on FTA satellite dishes.
Anyone have any experience with them? Are they worth it? Do they actually work?
Getting tired of giving Rogers $90+ a month.
Used to have DirectTV years ago with the "card" that would go down every other week. Does this sort of thing happen with FTA?

Seriously, the reason you aren't finding much information about it here is because what you're aiming to do, at best, falls into a legal grey area but based on your comment about Rogers, could be construed as trying to do something illegal.

(Yes, I know there are lots of legit uses for FTA, but it doesn't take a lot of reading between the lines to see that's not what your after.)

Having said that, this isn't the time to even think about getting into it. If you take a look at the forums dealing with such things, there's a lot of chicken little attitude going on right now.
