I know you can buy these from a whole bunch of different places these days. Who has the best deal? I'd be fine with 500 GB; it doesn't have to be particularly portable, either, as long as it's reliable.

I went with an enclosure and 500 GB Seagate drive from NCIX. $100 after shipping and taxes.

Costco has a bunch in store. i bought the 250GB works great.

I like the ioSafe Solo (http://www.iosafe.com/3). The drives are slightly more expensive than normal, but the additional security features (they're waterproof and fireproof) certainly justify the additional cost, IMO.

Dell is having a hard drive sale starting July 10.
I'm hoping for some WD passports to go on sale.
