View Full Version : Good Japanese restaurants in Orlando?

I'm going to Orlando, Fl in a week and a half and think Florida has some pretty good Japanese restaurants.

I've tried the Japanese restaurant at Epcot (I didn't think it was that great, but very overpriced). I've also tried the Japanese restaurant in the Publix plaza across from Premium Outlet Mall. I thought it was very good!

I'm wondering what other ones are recommended?

Also, what are some good seafood restaurants (with a raw bar)?

Thanks!

there are none...that is why no one has any suggestions...i go to orlando twice sometimes three times a year for the past 5 years and never had any good Japanese food...ever..but as with all food, what is good depends....i have also been to Japan several times ....

check out chowhound...your seach will also come up blank...just as a search for good chinese food...

sadly you are not going in a br month so if you liked Oysters you can always check out Lee and Ricks Oyster bar...

good luck, sorry i can not help out but you should know you are in for a tough search...let me know if you find something new...

see post 208....

Thanks for your reply. What a bummer to not be able to find any great seafood places considering its Florida. I've been checking Tripadvisor, but wanted to hear from RFD members.

actually...just spoke with my wife and she noted this serves OK japanese food in our books but tripadvisor loves the same...

Johnny's Hideaway is very good for seafood and steak....you are out of stone crab season but they have a method that allows them to serve them all year round - probably flash freezing to minus 60 - much like they do with Tuna of the coast of maine...steaks are HUGE and you should really share...i had a 38 oz bone in Ribeye and man or man was it huge...the bone in strip is also gigantic...very very tasty...price pretty good also...i mean expensive but certainly no Harbour 60 or Morton's stupid prices..

as noted, Lee & Rick's for osyters...

Yeah I read up on those two restaurants (Japanese and Lee & Ricks). They look good especially the oysters which I think we may check out. Thanks for the feedback.

log my vote for sushi katana

we usually go there twice anytime we're in orlando

a little on the pricey side, but amazing service and some really unique rolls, especially if you love cream cheese.

Thanks, I'll check it out! Price is fine as long as the food is good.
