As a family of 5 we have driven to Myrtle Beach the last 2 summers for the last week of August into the labour day weekend. We rented a 3 bedroom condo for like $700.00 for the week including taxes and cleaning. Book directly with the owner and you can negotiate directly especially if booking last minute. There are tons of condos with pool and right on the beach and kids had a great time. Try one of the sites below to book directly with the owner. Keep in mind that most condos rent for the week from Saturday to Saturday.

If you are flying you can check out flights for as low as $99.00 each way depending when you are travelling from Niagara Falls US airport which includes free parking. There are direct flights with Northwest from Detroit as well.

Myrtle Beach is awesome... I've been to many different places (NJ, Virginia, Florida, Maine, The Island's) But Myrtle Beach is my favourite.
