I will be going to Argentina in December and will be in Buenos Aires around Christmas and will be in the Salta region in January. Anyone have any tips, recommendations, etc.?

Make reservations now-that is school holiday time and it can get crazy. Chile is worse

Don't take anything too flashy.
The biggest mistake tourists make when traveling to other countries (other than first world countries) is that they seem to take for granted many things.
You walk with an iphone/ipod in your hands, or even in your pockets and chances are someone will rob you or somehow steal it from you. To prevent being that tourist who ALWAYS complains about how unsafe the other countries are, taking proper measures to prevent this stuff from happening.
Make sure you double check the prices of stuff.
Sometimes you'll go to a restaurant and they'll charge you the value in dollars instead of pesos (1 USA dollar = 3.70ish pesos) just cause they know you are a tourist. So you can get ripped off easily without you noticing.
Overall i think you'll have a blast. Christmas is a great time to be there. lots of things going on, the weather is amazing around that time. Everyone seems to be taking vacations so you'll see a lot of people and festivities.
I also suggest you don't take too many clothes. You don't wanna be carrying too much stuff on you. Shopping there is quite cheap too, so thats an alternative.
Eat lots of steak, probably one of the best steaks in the world

Thanks for the replies. How much cash should I bring for two weeks? Is there any place anyone can recommend for me to exchange CAD to ARS in Toronto before I leave?

ATMs are everywhere and usually have the best rate or close to it.
