View Full Version : Wawanesa quote for 408K worth of house (near fire hydrant)

Just curious what people are being quoted for with Home Insurance, preferably wawanesa.

We have comprehensive, $1000 deductible, and earthquake.

Before our rate was $768 per year but that was for

Dwelling 226K
Private Structures 22K
Personal Property 158K
Additional Living Expense 45K

Premium was 537 + 231 for earthquake.

Haven't got a quote on our new house yet. Can you call different brokers for the same company to get different rates?

My latest says:

Dwelling - $255,000
Private Structure - $25,500
Personal Property - $204,000
Additional Living Expense - $51,000

Legal Liability - $1M
Voluntary Medical Payments - $5,000/person

Sewer Back up/Water Damage included
Single Inclusive Limit - $535,500
Replacement Cost of contents included
Identity Fraud Expense Coverage included
Close to fire hydrant, $1,000 Deductible, Auto Discount + 24 Hr Monitored Alarm System + New Home Discount

Total is $461.14/per year. My home was bought for $343k

I think it's comprehensive. I'm gonna bet that there won't be an earthquake in Ontario.
