My driveway has a 1/4 - 1/2 inch space between the end of the driveway and the pavement of the garage. What is the best way to fill it, in terms of whats required to fill this space up so water doesn't stay in the space.

Please advise.

Use a driveway caulk product (in a tube).

I suggest you put in a foam backer rod before any type of asphalt patching material (or caulk). The foam fills the gap and will prevents the product from falling into the hole.
Go see the guys at Home Depot (or Rona), they have many types of products to fill the gaps and will give you the pros and cons of each. Some of the stuff for driveways is way too runny and is for filling small hairline cracking on the surface and others are for filling large gaps.

Ours was a little larger than that, and 2 summers ago a contractor came knocking door to door, and filled the gap with asphalt. Once it was sealed again the patch was not noticeable. Well worth the $50.

Hm I have the same thing with my garage and driveway. I'll have to check it out.

What about the space between your lawn and the driveway? Let's say you just want to extend it about half an inch onto the lawn...
