I am going on vacation soon and I have a nice collection of mp3's that I will be taking. However I would like some variety, and maybe download a couple audiobooks, comedy skits, documentaries, or whatever you can think of!
For example, I was given this link, http://www.retrogamingradio.com/ , where they talk about retro videogaming and related stuff. I don't know how much of that I can take :P but something along these lines of any topics, or whatever!
Thanks :)

You could go to your local library and check out a couple of audiobooks on CD.
Then you could rip the CDs to mp3 so you do not have to take the library CDs with you. After you return, you can delete the mp3s and take the audiobooks back to the library.

I checked the library out, seems they only have cassettes. They have a lot of CD music though!
I remember a couple years ago there used to be a show on the radio Sunday evenings where they would play really old radio shows, perhaps recorded before tv was mainstream and popular. There were all sorts of shows, mystery, suspense, comedy, etc. They were really well done with the odd sound effects and everything! This would be perfect.
I found this site, http://www.audiobooksforfree.com/screen_main.asp , they let you d/l the books for free at a bitrate of 8 kb/sec which is quite poor, but it is free. A very nice selection too.

Does anyone know where there's a place that I can physically walk into and rent audiobooks? Ie. A blockbuster type equivalent.
Not looking to buy, but rent. Don't want online sites. Not the library where selection is limited.

I posted about this in the freebies section, but will repost it since you are interested..

They rent on the Netflix model.. I.e. YOu can have a certain number out at once.. There is a 2 week free trial. I didn't bother signing up since I don't have time right now for them...
Also, if I remember there is a store on Bay St. or something that rents out audio books...

I think you may be referring to Spoken Word Audio Books. It's on 350 Bay St.

I love audible.com and I use their Basic Listener Subscription option. I pay about $17/month (depending on $US exchange), and I easily get $35 worth of programming. I just downloaded an Al Fraken Book (Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them), and I subscribe to "Your Mac Life". You get one book and one subsription a month. I also download Stupid White Men and Dude, Where's My Country. Also downloaded some Latino Kings Of Comedy, Bill Maher (When You Ride Alone, You Ride With Bin Laden), and next month, I think I'll grab something from George Carlin.
