View Full Version : Forgot suite number in Shipping Address

It seems Canada Post couldn't deliver my package from NCIX because the Shipping Address didn't have suite number in my building (my fault probably). I called Canada Post asked them if they could add/make note of my suite and re-deliver and they said they couldn't do anything about it and are sending it back to the sender.

I've contacted NCIX about re-sending it and am waiting for their reply.

Is there anything I can do about this? I really need this package. Is there any way I can get Canada Post to re-deliver or hold it somewhere and I can pick it up?

It may be too late by the time NCIX replies.

Contact NCIX by phone here: http://ncix.com/contact/

If not, you can drive to your nearest Canada Post with a picture ID to prove that it is you and try to have them give it to you there.

I think you answered your own question. Plus, CP is just the middleman here and don't want to give the package to anyone who claims it is their own if it doesn't have a suite number. Also, if I'm not mistaken anything going through the mail system is federal property so I'm guessing you have to sort it out with NCIX.

I did this one time. I ended up getting the package on time somehow, but initially there was nothing Canada Post can do and I had to go straight to the seller. The procedure was that the seller would wait for the returned package once Canada Post realized I missed the suite number, seller would then fill in the incomplete shipping info, then send it out again. Somehow it still made it to me without it going back to seller but it was probably an exception. It also wasn't NCIX either.

Not much you can do, just don't forget next time!

Thanks for all the replies...NCIX said they'll re-ship it once they get it, but will have to charge me for shipping - so much for free shipping.

This happened to me also. Forgot suite number so they have to resend the package again. I didn't get charged again for shipping though. Maybe because I paid for it the first time already.

Hopefully they don't charge me for shipping, although the CSR did say they would...I'll ask them again if they can just resend the package with the suite number added.
