hi RFDers,

My faucet recently started leaking hot water the the leak is pretty bad. I replaced the faceplate and the O ring and even the whole stem. Nothing seems to help though... I'll pretty fed up now :(

I am thinking of hiring a plumber. so my question is, how much does it usually cost? What are some of the things I have to watch out for? I've never hired a plumber before...

Thanks

Your over thinking this just a bit too much. Its just a simple removal of an old faucet and installing a new one. This shouldn't take any licensed experienced plumber more than an hour to do.

you should also replace the faucet seat...if you dont it will just chew up the new cartridge you installed...or as johnnyb said...install a new faucet

as for the cost, it depends on the company...some companies charge time and material, and some charge flat rate...so the cost will depend on the company you hire
