Buying on Amazon.com from Canada

Does anyone have experience with purchasing an item from Amazon.com and having it shipped to Canada?

Unfortunately, amazon.ca does not have the item i am looking for which is..

You cannot buy electronics from Amazon.com. They will not accept a Canadian order. Pretty much Books, CDs, DVDs only. This is detailed in shipping information for Canada if you do a little looking on their site.

For items that can be shipped from Amazon.com to Canada, I find their shipping to be pretty good (basically it's the same level as Amazon.ca).

Unfortunately a large number of items cannot be shipped so there's a good chance it doesn't matter anyway. You need to do a checkout in order to see if your item can be shipped to Canada.

Much to my surprise the Amazon.com web site has been changed and now indicates that they ship electronics and other items to Canada.
