I have some appliances to donate. I'm in the Brampton area; does anyone know a place that will pick them up? The Salvation army stopped doing that because of high costs and I can't find anyone else.

Most second-hand appliance stores will pick them up for free if you're giving them away.

I had a 25 year old washer/dryer. After a lot of calling around, nobody wanted them. I found a guy on Kijiji to pick them up for $10 - I assume he was a scrap metal guy.

Try Habitat for Humanity, another plus is you get a tax receipt if they take it.

Depending what appliances you have, they age and brand. I had working 6yo Frifgidaire washer and could not find anybody to pick it. Places which deal with used appliances (parts and resale) told me they do not touch this brand. Charities would only take it if I get it to them.
