I am planning to buy a closet organizer so that I can use the space more efficiently. I am looking at this kind (see the pic), but most of them have height of 84 inches, which means I have to remove the existing shelf and rod in the closet. Just wondering is there any organizer that will fit under the standard closet shelf/rod? How do you use your closet space? Thanks

There's a kit sold at Zellers and Rona that utilizes your existing closet rod. Vertical poles attach to your existing rod and the shelves, etc. go between the vertical poles. It's sometimes on clearance at Zellers:
