Sorry for the total newby question but....whats the safest way to trade with someone in the BST forum? I mean is there a standard way to trade with people using paypal for goods on RFD like logging private messages regarding the transaction and whatnot?

Local trading and pickup only is the only forsure why to safely trade and refuse any $50 or $100 dollar bills.

And if you're going to accept cash, be sure to familiarize yourself with anti-counterfeiting currency marks here  Bank of Canada - Counterfeiting prevention (http://www.bank-banque-canada.ca/en/banknotes/counterfeit/security_features.html).

That's not a newbie question! Don't be afraid to ask questions and speak your mind! After all this is Canada! But yeah the safest way is meet in person, bring a friend too. Accept cash as payment and don't take $100 bills, take $20 bills or less and know how to tell if they are counterfeit, just like the guy above me said.

Depending on the value of the item traded, this is DEFINATELY critical if the person has no feedback.
When the person has significant feedback accumulated (naturally all 100%), it's a safe bet that the person is reliable.
